With fall quickly approaching, there are several upcoming events we want to share.

Two events are happening on Saturday, September 21. Project ACTION! will be hosting a Voter Education Event from noon to 2 p.m. at First Trinity Lutheran Church after their regular monthly meeting from 10 a.m. to noon. Please RSVP to Tiffany Yuille at tyuille@dcqualitytrust.org if you are interested in attending. In addition, the 6th Annual Latinx Conference will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School. This event is held in Spanish to educate Spanish-speaking people with disabilities and their families about the services, resources, and supports available in DC. Please register at this link.

The September DDS Community and Provider Forum will be held online on Friday, September 27 from noon to 1:30 p.m. and will begin conversations about next year’s DDS budget. DDS will send an email with joining details, or you can email Charlisa.Payne2@dc.gov for the link.

The final Olmstead Town Hall will be held on Tuesday, October 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. both online and at THEARC in Southeast DC. The District’s Olmstead Plan seeks to enhance community-based services for people with disabilities in the areas of housing, employment, healthcare, and transportation. You can view the current draft of the 2025-2027 District Olmstead Plan and register to attend at this link.

On Friday, October 25, the 2024 Employment First Summit is happening from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library. The event includes networking, learning sessions, and a resource fair to promote accessible and inclusive employment for people with disabilities. Please register at this link.
